The she-wolf hides in everyday clothes,
talking ‘sense’ among the gullible set,
pushing the buttons of unfocused fear for
those confused, ‘dissolutioned’, afraid of
change, loading their woes on outsiders,
on those who come with different ways.
The she-wolf waits with no substance, just
slogans, a vacancy dressed up in conviction,
lapping the dripping blood of despair from
those who believe the wolf is the right answer
to all their desires, all their complaints.
But watch, watch, be warned: the she-wolf
will shed her outer skin and take the power
in her long-nailed paws to rip apart all that
has been treasured so that those who expected
a saviour are given the grinning devil instead.
