The earth is dynamic,
moving inside, rumbling,
turning, shifting, groaning,
snorting and grinding from
the pressures beneath,
and we sit precariously
on the outer shell
of this bucking beast,
subject to it whims,
and unpredictable ways,
and never sure where its
vagaries may lead.

Despite our claims that
we have tamed this beast,
it is still in the wild of
the vast universe and we
are subject to its tempers
that come and go like
the changing of its winds.
