It is election time again

and before us is displayed the

usual rich feast of promises that

look so inviting but are empty

to the taste; and to this is added

teasing cameo moments of babies,

and workplaces, great projects and

drinks in pubs with all their best mates.

 

Ah! election time.

Such feign mud slinging and torpid speeches

and ads ad nauseum that drive us insane,

And we the hapless public sit and look

in dismay at the crazies that will guide

us into a troubling future not quite our own.
