I live on the edge, the boundary,

between now and the future

that is not known.

Waking and sleep is one boundary,

thought and action is another,

starting and completion is a third.

These boundaries, these edges,

are caught in time and

in the textures of awareness

that construct my experience.

I am a bounded creature,

framed in the edges of a day,

strung between success and failure,

and defined in the partitions of

breath and dissolution.
