At the intersection

At the intersection

I find you,

smiling out from

that ordinary place,

from that gentle

heart that pumps

the joy of

a life and

sprays it out

to the world.

At the intersection

I see an image

of you,

alive and dead,

reminding me

of loss,

but lifting me

out of the ordinary,

and taking me again

to that smile

that was my joy,

to that burst of life

that saved me,

to that place

in a moment of time

at the intersection.
