Open

It is open for you and me,

open across the world with

not a bond around to hold us

back from this open world,

away from the tight knots of

despair that once held as down

and tied us in to the common

way of the closed back door.

We went out the other way

and never turned back to look,

for ahead we could see the

openness beyond, we could see

the trees and the fields and all

that lay beyond this indignity,

We could see,

for it was open to you and me.
