Consider the humble worm that

pushes its way unseen through

the earth and through our soils

and waste asking no more than

to feed as it nurtures in the dark.

 

Are we better than this humble

worm? Are we greater? What have

we done that deserves more praise

than the worm that tills the stubborn

ground and feeds us with its work.
