There is one and only one

ultimate truth: it is not about

some far-away god that’s

out there, and not out there

at alI, and tries to control

our lives and make us truly

moral-whatever that means.

 

It’s not even that we will

die, for death is not living

and so we cannot know

death and thus it cannot be

a truth any more than one

day all will cease to exist,

or that heaven is waiting.

 

Truth, the ultimate truth,

is that all we know and

can ever know is what

is now inside our head:

the world is now created

fresh inside our head

like playdough that finds

its forms and then returns

to its former null state.
