What if all our cares,
and all we care for,
are gone in a flash,
in a moment we know
nought about before
it happens–just gone,
not here anymore,
snuffed out along with
us and all our knowledge,
and plans for another day.

What if there is extinction,
and no one is left to inherit
the earth?

Would the earth care?
Would God?

Who would tend the Garden?
To what would it return?
