One day you wake from slumber
and realise how much your life
has changed, and all that you
assumed would be there forever
has drifted quietly away, and in
its place the silence has no
echoes at all, no sounds to
warm the heart with, no beat
and pulse of life, nothing but
a whimper in the silence with
the coming of death itself.
