The sun does shine

On this grand and sunny day

I seem to have lost the will, the way,

to get beyond all that I am and

all that I’m not and all that I could be

if only I could see me in all that’s

going down in the circle of this life,

among the care and the strife,

and the routines of living and giving

for no return and nothing back

except the striving, always the striving,

always the moving from here to there,

without cause and no effect,

on this day, in this place,

where the sun does shine.
