If god is really you in disguise,

really the construction of hopes and fears,

of dreams and wishes beyond

the truth of smallness,

then what is prayer?

 

The call from being to self

that is inward, not outward,

natural, not supernatural,

about apprehension and

living in uncertainty,

about the seeking of

something in nothing,

and the universal

in the ordinary.
