There is a stir
in me,
a fire,
that no cold spray of doubt
or smothering by
those without faith
can extinquish.
This stir burns
with a heat
that consumes but
does not destroy,
driving this body,
impelling this soul,
onwards into the grey
dank of uncertainty.
In all that is me
lives the terror
and the comfort
of the flame
that dies
and then stirs again
with such intensity
that it lights the
world entire.
