The dark notes of death’s anthem

ring out across many human spaces

with frozen faces and running tears

for what is gone and what is left.

 

And about death our curiosity and fear

meet as unlikely friends that bring together

dread as the source of their communion

and find pleasure in death’s terror unfurled.
