Can we find the sacred way beyond

delusions and from this self-interest

that fills our days with nothing

more them the icing on a bitter cake?

 

Hope is an easy word for timid people

unwilling to see the truth and be brave

in the face of all there is to lose,

even if over the rise the loss is gain.

 

Shall we seek a Way that’s forward

not back and down and filled with

powdered dreams of what we would

like the world to be if it didn’t cost?
