Being close is not
so good if it means
not seeing
the greater view.
Caught up in minutiae,
one is encased in the detail of
living,
a slave to the
insistent particulars
of things
that are not your own.
And then,
when you move,
re-position,
shift back and away
and see,
maybe for the first time,
you appreciate
its smallness;
and you are no
longer caught in this
web of expectations.
You are alive,
and you see
that what matters
is the greater view.
