If we are to be honest—

and that’s a hard sell—

then we would admit to

the proposition that we

actually make it all up 

as we go our merry way.

 

Yes, I know we seem 

organised, socialised,

systematised, and—

heaven help us—

suitably sanitised.

 

True believers,

one and all;

joining together

in the Way.

 

Yes I know, for I once

believed it too;

but now I just do, 

and there is no 

grand plan to guide 

our sacred ways—

there is really nothing

at all except the noise

that we make and 

the great plans we fake.
