What is it we need beyond our needs?

This is desire which is not the same thing.

This is poison for it demands more than

can be given by a planet that has already

given enough to our consumed human kind.

 

The word is poison—literally, metaphorically,

existentially, as we place ourselves in a

future that we yet see dimly.
