The beach

The languid beach

lays itself bare

and flaunts

its beauty.

It opens its body

to the baking force

of the summer sun,

and sparkles

in unabashed glory,

as the sun

brings its searing heat

over the crystalline sand.

The carved sea

licks at the beach

with its crashing blue

and foaming tongue.

Its open wet mouth

sucks in the sand

and spews it out,

only to repeat

the ritual feast,

a feast as ancient

as the beach itself.
