We are all fucked

in small and large ways,

and we struggle with

secret fears and desires

that twist us around

like a tight noose,

but no one knows,

or even suspects, that we

are that human and that frail

from the look of the

brilliantly carved  face

put on for display each morning

and taken off in the

pit at the dark end of each day.
