Leave us be, Truth

Truth,

you are the mother

of lies and the

father of deceit.

You are spoken about

as if you exist for yourself,

and your friend, Plato,

tried to convince us

that was so.

But you are the worm

in the apple,

the poison dart to hope,

and the myth

in the fading tales

of dying civilisations.

You are a fantasy

that we crave for,

but like a drug the

high only stays

for a short time

and then there is

a silent crash to the ground.

So, leave us be, Truth,

for you only beguile us

till we believe that there is

something there

when nothing exists at all.
