The human species

Looks to the

Sky with wonder

And asks questions

About where we are

And who we are

In the unfolding

And complex

Processes

Of a universe

Measured

But beyond

measure.

 

And in these

Questions of

Looking out

And asking why

There is equally

And fully

A looking in

And asking

What it means

To have consciousness

Such that we

Can look out

And wonder

And gaze at

The sky and

Ponder what it

Means to be

On the fragile surface

Of this tiny rock

Flung in place

In the distance of space.
