Hatred is that

hidden bitter worm

that eats away

inside a soul,

and consumes,

through stealth,

the sacred skill

of seeing a person truly,

of understanding a person wholly,

through eyes focused on compassion

and shared humanity.

The worm will

silently take its fill

of all the soft

and tender parts,

and leave behind

an empty shell,

unless into its very heart,

its dark and acrid secret parts,

is injected

the antidote of

kindness and

the healing drug

of enlightenment.
