In the face

Of rigidity

As strong and

Unbending as concrete,

There is a need

For respect,

Tempered with

The balm of patience

And the gentle urging

Towards change

That will slowly

Melt the concrete

And open eyes

To the beauty

Of all that is

Beyond the walls.
