Why do we talk
so often
of a day
in a life,
of a predestined
chronology
from young to old?
As the old cliche goes:
make each day count.
But who’s keeping score?
I’d rather speak
about a life in a day:
embodied,
present,
grateful.
We are living
in this gently aging
skin
with a present joy,
and no yesterday
sucking away
this present,
and no tomorrow
counting away
a life in a day.
