The sun rises over
the windy bay with
a certainty that
was present before
any human thought
about its giving of
life and the cycles
and seasons that
come in its wake.
It rises with vibrant colours
that many creatures
saw before humans
opened their eyes and
worshipped the presence
of this giant fire ball, so
far away and so near.
It sets and falls over the windy
bay to bring sunset colours
and awe, as the day thins
to black and the night
brings the stars that are
other suns, and creatures
lie and sleep in absence,
waiting for the certain promise.
Till the morn comes again
across the windy bay and
we wake, eyes open, seeing the
rising, birds flying, creatures
moving, and all is what it ever
was across the windy bay.
