Winter morning wet

with drops that clatter

in their generous fall,

and looking out above

the steady swaying trees 

that drink it in and revel in

the rain, the heavy clouds 

are full and dark and give 

their gift of life to the

earth who takes the gift

and gives it back to the

sky, in a cycle of taking

and giving that has made

this blue green planet the

envy of the universe.
