Cure the world

I wonder how I can cure
the world–take this dis-ease
and turn it around to find
the whole, the coming
together, the common joy
of living above division,
strife, and the sorrow that
follows loss, towards the
promised day of peace.

I am but a dreamer, I know!
Absurd! Romantic! The Fool!
Wanting to find remedy for
that which is beyond repair.

Still, still I will imagine a day,
and I will seek the words to say
that I have salvation in a pocket
near my heart and I will take
it out and give it freely to all that
seek the cloth that is not divided
but covers those who sit in its warmth.
