From the first breath of a life
to the blackened end of day,
I am responsible for me and
only me and for what I have
done with this tiny fragment
that came together whole,
gifted generously to me by the
universe in the miracle of life.

And you are responsible for you,
and only you, even though I care,
and you must also see the miracle
and take this little time and make it
into the fulness of you till the sun
fades to darkness at the end of day.
