At times of drifting despair,
held by the stained teeth
of this world, there comes a
child, a first born one complete,
that brings you back to hope
and to those simple things
that make this life of beginnings
and ends an interval of joy,
not the deathly mourning
of a saddened unfulfilled life.
This child, this One, that carries
life in helplessness, is restoration,
is strength, is wonder, is the future
tied up in the soaring potential of
what’s yet to be but will come.
