I am restless and

never at ease, but

I am happy too, and

that seems a contradiction

from a surface view.

 

I am restless for life,

for taking all there is

and squeezing it into

my generous cup of joy.

 

And I am never at ease,

for being aware and watching

is my considered choice on the

parapet of life where I can

see beyond the trees to the hills.
