The luminous love of life
consumes me whole and
I find myself drowning in
this mystery that is old
and young set against
a sunset and the colours
of dying and then the
Moon with her light
enquiring, after the dazzle
of light, about who I am
in the darkness and the
long shadow of silent night.
And here and now and present
there is the calling from near
and far and inward toward the
light like a moth drawn to
luminescence, to the flame that
warms and sears, and I am caught
up in this mystery towards the
night of coming when all will be
gone and all will be revealed.
