Your body, your mind,
are as soft and hard as poetry
and I wish to hear it, feel it,
touch it as velvet lines
and rough edges that
make me come alive,
and sink into you as one
folds into a bed after
a long day, for your body,
your mind, are the refuge
and the pit that draws me
into safety, holds me
down–caught in this addiction
I want to laugh and weep,
for your body, your mind
have consumed me,
taken me whole, enfolded,
as we become this living end.
