There is a monster that has
grown and grown to infiltrate
and colonise the core of who
we are as humans: its tentacles
wrapping around our creativity,
enterprise, production and writing,
even finding its way into our imagination,
slowly changing our thinking as
humans moving to dependence,
and seemingly unaware of
how hungry this monster is,
how its needs are terrifying,
how it lives in the realm of profit,
how it seems unstoppable, relentless,
as it breathes in all our technologies,
so much so that it drops out
of awareness and becomes the
third eye that watches and watches
and coldly and coldly transforms,
remaking us in the monster’s image.
