I have seen the galleries of the
earth and the sky, and taken the
creative hand into my heart in
spaces of display and admiration.
This is beauty wrought from awe
at the handiwork of nature and its
creatures that are caused to make
and fold possibilities into the new.
But the beautiful to me is not a
question of aesthetics but of the
extraordinary in the ordinary in
moments as gifts to the other.
Beauty is judged as it presents its
face in art and music and drama
and the glorious flow of dance and
writing that pleases and also inspires.
The beautiful is unexpected, caught in
moments of delight, never for display,
but seen in care that is about renewal,
as the face that makes a claim upon us.
