There is a scorn

that’s not so strong,

but subtly spreads its power;

for it just seems so

invisible and weak,

and yet its force is dire.

 

This scorn is not so

blunt and bold,

but it is sharp and true;

for it is given

in what is cut away

and in the silence that remains.
