O what a beautiful delusion:
futile and necessary,
taking us out and away,
to another place, another way,
to the sky, the inner self
and beyond, but there is
nothing there but the beauty,
the awe that we wish to feel,
nothing but desire for more
than the ground can give
on the small round place
that we all call this home.
