I have witnessed this beauty
in sadness:
seeing you here with
your reddened eyes
and the shiver of despair,
existing broken in the shadows
for now,
a strange grace in this time after
damnation,
when what was, is lost,
but you still exist,
determined,
glittering with emotion,
alchemised–not afraid
to feel the end
of the world and
come out
the other side holding tenderly
death and life.
