Instead of building ditches

between us and filling them

with infested water,

we need to build bridges

that span across

even the widest

gaps separating one

group from another

or one person

from the other.

 

And when we walk across

the bridges

to meet each other,

there at the apex

of mutual exchange,

we can find together

experience that is common,

and values that connect

all of humanity.
