I won’t stay in my corner,
and be a fucking formula,
for there’s the devil in me
playing another tune, ready
to move in ways not familiar,
and reinvent the moon so
it shines in darkness and
light and not just when the
sun who holds the power
chooses the proper way,
for in me is resistance and
a questioning of existence,
and I will not hold back in
finding other ways to be
and many things to say that
are uncomfortable and truthful,
even if those on top think they
hold the fountains of knowledge,
for I have the courage to say
what needs to be said and stick
out my head, and I have the
insight to see the blade coming
and turn away before there is
the Fall and I am taken away like
all the others that came before.
