What flame has been
lit from our intelligence,
ingenuity, creativity,
imagination, striving
to find what is possible,
and seemed impossible?

What Promethean fire
is now burning
intensely to overtake
the whole world
without care and
light the air?

How shall we hold it back,
stop its pace,
and tame it so it does
not consume us
and the earth
in its heat?

Brilliance and destruction
lie together unaware,
like the lamb and the lion,
as the rabbit and the fox.
