Words are politics

The politics of words.
Words create politics.

Use a word enough and
it becomes constraint,
not freedom, for the
words of orthodoxy
bind like rope.

Words said often become
conformity, normality,
while other words are
painted into the wings
for being too close to truth,
and some you dare not
speak out of propriety.

This is the subtle politics
of words: say what you
really mean in private spaces,
use any words you like,
and use the sanctioned
ones in the halls
and public spaces.

Words are politics,
and politics are words.
