Why is it always the government’s responsibility?
Why is it always the government’s fault?

Where is your agency?
Or have you retreated to the
mouse corner and succumbed to passivity?

We condemn those who protest and
then sit back into our armchair lives.

What will you do in your corner?
What will you call out and challenge?
What will you change in your life?

Our society is made of active parts,
and it has ever been so.

Those parts are you and me, and
the distant neighbour down the long street.

Whose responsibility is it?
Whose fault?
