We gathered in rain to

say goodbye, to cry,

to comfort in the space

between now and forever,

and bring memories

of times long gone

and release a part of us

that cannot return accept

in our sweet and bitter

thoughts as we remember

beginnings and middles

and ends of a life lived that

has found its silent end.
