Of what are you afraid?

We have changed
and it has changed,
and we are no longer
the same, for nothing
stops except death.

You are probably
wondering of
what I speak,
and to what
my words pertain.

Well, my brothers,
I speak of
females and males
and the human shape
of the world,
and of things far,
and ever so near.

I speak of our
thoughts, desires
and attitudes,
of the ways we speak
and our actions
seen in public
and behind
closed doors.

I speak of women
and their place with
us, of recognition,
of gratitude,
and of fear that
is all too present
on streets and
on screens.

Does this make you
come awake or have
I not disturbed your
sleep in this
self-contained life.

If it is the case that
this does not matter
and you pass it off
as politically correct,
or dismiss it as overstated,
then think again
for this is real and visceral,
and this is about how
women feel.

So, I ask with the
respect tht all humans deserve:
of what are you afraid?
