This thread is woven across
years, decades,
centuries, millennia,
with grace and strength,
with dignity and pain,
and yet we,
the male of the
species, have broken it,
chewed it up,
burnt it in the
flaming heat of control.

That we would just let
the thread do its
beautiful work and weave
a multi-coloured blanket
with space in which
we all feel warm.
