Poetry is both
being and meaning,
and then one more.
It is pre-formationa1 and fleshly.
Prior to the conformity
of structure and mentation,
without form,
in the void of humanity,
in the body,
in memories
and feelings.
And then it becomes meaning
in language as
structure, shape,
and the flows of utterance,
as art to be understood.
But there is a
third part ofn this trinity that may not
happen: when the magic unfolds and
being and meaning come together
in the reading and hearing
and there is a smile,
and recognition
of the synergy and the touch.
