I woke up this morning
with thoughts about all
the people who fold into my life,
all those significant others
that give my life meaning,
fullness, texture, joy, hope,
and flow, but also
the sorrow of being apart
in a world of distances.

For all these people that cross
and touch the many centres
that construct the mystery
of who I am and will become,
I am grateful, even within the
challenging hollows and troughs
that will always appear.
