What a blessing
it is to have a pause:
to stop, to reflect,
to look inside
and out and
see without the
flurry of life and
expectation that
moves the solid
ground beneath
our tired feet.

What a joy
it is to pause in
times of conflict
and despair and
go beyond fight
and flight to where
consensus and
compromise live,
and where the
lion and the lamb
sit down together
in this place of peace
set apart.
