Part 1

There is no magician that
can point a wand and turn
this wounded world around.

We cannot return’ to Eden,
even if god changed his
mind and invited us back in.

We are here as billions
dissolved in our need to
survive, to thrive, just to eat.

Part 2

This is the time of turning,
of building a new paradigm with
fresh thinking about this blue speck.

Part 3

When the first astronauts saw
the earth afar they sensed its loneliness
as a coloured rock in the great expanse.

They saw its marked beauty and its
ordinariness among the many spheres
in the totality of all there is.

They saw it fragility as it is flung
around the sun and we sit on it
taken to where we have no say.
